After much talk, word has it that the WIM caboose will finally move to its new home by the depot next week. The caboose has belonged to Gene and Connie Rambo of Farmington for years and they've graciously donated it to the HPG. There have been a number of false starts on getting the caboose to town, but this time seems a go, if the weather cooperates. HPG President Don Somers invites anyone wanting to prep the caboose for the move to join him on December 2 for a trip to Farmington. Actual moving takes place Thursday December 3, with Wasankari Construction of Moscow doing the honors. The attractive new sidewalk in Potlatch has already made our depot restoration even more of a standout. Now to tackle the caboose.... Stay tuned for updates and photos! And thank you Jim West for staying on top of this project for the HPG.
Pictured in the photo are Gene Rambo, Don Somers and Jack Coyner back in June 2008 when the trucks were moved to the house track by the depot.
